IWAI appoints KPMG to study and devise a framework for assets on NW-1

The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has appointed KPMG to study and devise a framework for the operationalisation and maintenance of assets being built on National Waterway (NW)-1. The framework will include various institutional and operational models ranging from outsourcing to SPV formation with participating states and other railway and port authorities. The assets on NW-1 are being built under the World Bank-funded Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP). The main assets being procured and built under the JMVP are expected to be in place by 2018-19.
