Indian shipping industry had fleet of 1,382 vessels as of February 28, 2018

As of February 28, 2018, the Indian shipping industry had a fleet of 1,382 vessels of 12.43 million gross tonnage (GT) and 18.89 million dead-weight tonnage (DWT). Of the vessels, 936 were coastal vessels with a tonnage of 1.48 million GT (1.62 million DWT) and 446 were overseas vessels of 10.95 million GT (17.27 million DWT).
