SpiceJet conducts trial run for first amphibious seaplane in Mumbai

SpiceJet has conducted the first amphibious seaplane trial at Girgaon Chowpatty in Mumbai. Following this, the Andhra Pradesh government has conducted a second trial of the aircraft on the Krishna river. The airline is planning to start the seaplane service by December 2018 and is expected to take at least three-six months for the regulations to be framed. The regulatory authority for this service is yet to be zeroed in on and it is most likely that the MoCA will be given the charge to frame the rules for the service.
