MoRTH signs MoU with TFL to revamp public transport system

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has signed an MoU with Transport for London (TFL) with the objective of using TFL’s expertise to revamp public transport infrastructure in the country. TFL is the agency which currently manages the transport system for Greater London and has created a unique system of operating buses through a PPP model with over 17 operators under a single brand. The proposed MoU will help in revamping public transport and augmenting passenger capacity in the transport sector. It will also enable improved customer services, make use of scientific data analysis and implement effective information technology systems in the transport sector. In addition, it will bring about an improvement in infrastructure maintenance strategies,  and infrastructure design and delivery, and promote behavioural change towards the use of public transport.
