The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has notified the Sharing of Inter-State Transmission Charges and Losses (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2017. As per the amendment, transmission charges/losses will be waived for solar power projects commissioned between July 1, 2017 and December 31, 2019 for a period of 25 years from the commissioning date. Similarly, wind projects commissioned between September 30, 2016 and March 31, 2019 will be eligible for the waiver.
