Uttar Pradesh government sanctions Rs 1.53 billion for Purvanchal Expressway

The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 1.53 billion for the Purvanchal Expressway in its supplementary budget. The project involves the construction of an access-controlled greenfield expressway connecting Lucknow to Ballia, passing through Barabanki, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority is implementing the project on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
