Centre allocates Rs 299 million for rejuvenation of Cauvery river

The central government has allocated additional funds of Rs 299.4 million under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation for the rejuvenation of the Cauvery river in Karnataka. Of the funds allocated, about Rs 188.7 million is likely to be utilised for intercepting the sewage water and diverting it to a sewage treatment plant. The Karnataka Urban Water and Drainage Board is implementing the project, the initial cost of which was estimated at Rs 1.5 billion.
