NCRTC signs contract with ADIF for technical cooperation in urban transport

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) in India has signed a contract with Spain-based Administrator de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias for technical cooperation in the field of urban transport including rapid rail transit system (RRTS). The cooperation will involve work in the areas of tracks, signalling, rolling stock, safety, multimodal integration and stations. At present, three priority RRTS corridors, namely, Delhi-Meerut, Delhi-Panipat and Delhi-Alwar, are planned to be implemented in Phase 1 by 2020. Meanwhile, NCRTC is also exploring the possibility of signing a similar agreement with Société nationale des chemins de fer français, the state-owned railway company of France.
