BPTS submits e-mobility plan to deploy electric vehicles in Bhubaneshwar

Bhubaneswar-Puri Transport Services Limited has submitted a Rs 2.19 billion proposal to the central government to deploy electric buses and vehicles for public transportation in Bhubaneswar as a part of the electric mobility plan. The plan comprises two projects – a bus modernisation project, to launch a 32 km long priority transit corridor deploying 92 new electric buses with an expected daily ridership of 192,000 passengers, and an area-based development plan to deploy 500 electric rickshaws to ensure last-mile connectivity, and develop allied infrastructure and charging stations by 2021.
