The central government has turned down the proposal for amending port concession agreements with private firms operating cargo terminals at major ports. The rejection comes in response to the Indian Private Ports and Terminals Association request for reviewing concession agreements periodically to take account of the changing circumstances and for progressive migration to market-driven tariffs with no conditions.
