Telangana executes pilot project to provide 24-hour power supply to agricultural consumers

The Telangana government has executed a scheme to supply 24-hour quality and uninterrupted power to the farm/agricultural sector across the state on a pilot basis. Initially, the scheme was undertaken for 14 days (November 6-20, 2017), during which power demand, as well as the load on transformers and substations was gauged. The state will start providing 24-hour supply to agricultural consumers on a continuous basis from January 1, 2018. About Rs 120 billion has been spent on strengthening distribution and supply systems as a part of this initiative.
