Kirby Building Systems to deploy Trimble’s Tekla Structures as its BIM software

Kirby Building Systems will deploy Trimble’s Tekla Structures as its building information modelling (BIM) software for facilitating the construction of accurate and cost-effective pre-engineered steel structures. The Tekla BIM software allows for greater cooperation and efficiency in the process of project implementation.

Kirby will benefit from the 3D building information models offered by the software, which in turn will allow for optimised prefabrication and site management. Further, it will enable the company to undertake smooth and seamless construction with minimal wastage, avoid errors, and maintain one common database for large projects and cross-refer them with other models from MEP or plant design. This will also result in considerable saving in terms of man-hours.

Trimble produces Tekla software solutions for advanced BIM and structural engineering workflow within the portfolio of Trimble Buildings. Trimble Buildings, a part of Trimble’s Engineering and Construction segment, is focused on solutions that optimise the complete design-build-operate life cycle of buildings.

In India, Kirby Building Systems has been associated with various kinds of projects including complex modelling and intricate architectural features. It is also associated with the execution and commissioning of the Renault-Nissan India project, which is the world’s single largest PEB at one single location involving over 22,500 million tonnes of steel and spread over an area of over 300,000 square metres.
