Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board is implementing a 24×7 potable water supply project

The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board in Tamil Nadu is implementing a project to provide 24×7 potable water supply to 13 million people covering an area of 1,500 square km, along with 100 per cent sewerage coverage and 1,700 mld of sewage treatment capacity. The project will also curb non-revenue water to 15 per cent, down from 40 per cent currently. The project – which is likely to be completed by 2024 – will leverage advanced technology to achieve its objectives.
