Central government plans to invest Rs 1.45 trillion for road development in the Northeast

In order to upgrade road infrastructure in the Northeast, the central government is planning to undertake highway projects worth Rs 1.45 trillion in the region within the next two to three years. Of the proposed Rs 1.45 trillion investment, the government plans to invest about Rs 480 billion in Assam, Rs 220 billion in Manipur and Rs 200 billion in Nagaland, while projects worth Rs 170 billion have been planned in Sikkim, Rs 120 billion in Mizoram, Rs 100 billion in Arunachal Pradesh and Rs 80 billion each in Meghalaya and Tripura.
