The Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) second wind power auction of 1,000 MW conducted on October 4, 2017 witnessed a record low tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit. This is lower than the Rs 3.42 per unit tariff discovered in SECI’s previous wind power auction held in February 2017. In the latest auction, the winning bid of Rs 2.64 per unit was made by ReNew Power Ventures Private Limited and Orange Sironj Wind Power Private Limited for a capacity of 250 MW and 200 MW respectively.
