Nagpur Municipal Corporation undertaking initiatives to reduce pollution in Nag river

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra is implementing a Rs 125 billion project to reduce pollution in the Nag river by setting up sewage treatment plants (STPs) along the river at regular intervals. In addition, the civic agency is also preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for riverfront development of the river. This project is estimated to cost about Rs 137.3 billion and will contribute to the rejuvenation of the river. However, the state government‘s approval for the project has been pending since January 2017.
