The Jawaharlal Nehru Customs House (JNCH) has made some clarifications regarding the direct port delivery (DPD) facility and its implementable procedures, in its latest Public Notice No. 110/2017, dated August 29, 2017. The notice deals with three subjects: the procedure in relation to the evacuation of DPD containers from JNCH’s port terminals to designated CFSs, and if not cleared within 48 hours the extension of the aforesaid time limit in certain situations; advance intimation of at least 72 hours from the importer availing of the DPD facility to the shipping line with a copy to customs; and the standard format of the said advance intimation.
