The Charbagh-Transport Nagar priority section of the Lucknow metro rail project in Uttar Pradesh has been inaugurated and opened for public use. The 8.5 km stretch, which covers eight stations, has been developed under Phase IA of the project. The Lucknow metro rail project involves the development of a metro rail network in the city at an investment of Rs 126.71 billion. Three corridors are proposed to be built under it – the North-South corridor, the East-West corridor and the Gomti Nagar link.
