Indian shipping industry fleet stands at 1,345 vessels as of July 31, 2017

As of July 31, 2017, the Indian shipping industry had a fleet of 1,345 vessels of 12.25 million gross tonnage (GT) and 18.51 million deadweight tonnage (DWT). Of the vessels, 919 are coastal vessels with a tonnage of 1.49 million GT (1.65 million DWT) and 426 are overseas vessels of 10.76 million GT (16.86 million DWT).
