Indian ports handled 167.29 mt of traffic during April-June 2017

During the first three months (April-June) of the current fiscal year (2017-18), Indian major ports handled 167.29 mt of traffic, as compared to 159.26 mt in the corresponding period of 2015-16, registering an increase of 5.04 per cent. Kandla port handled the maximum traffic at 27.19 mt, followed by Paradip port (24.44 mt) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (16.35 mt). In terms of growth, Paradip port reported the maximum increase (18.63 per cent), followed by Cochin port (18.31 per cent) and New Mangalore port (17.45 per cent).
