Bengaluru metro’s Sampige Road-Yelachenahalli section inaugurated

The Sampige Road-Yelachenahalli section of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project, Phase I, in Karnataka has been inaugurated. With this, the entire Phase I of the project has been commissioned. The phase involved the development of a 42.3 km long metro rail network in the city at a total investment of Rs 138 billion. The project comprises two corridors – the East-West corridor (Purple line) connecting Baiyappanahalli to the Mysore Road terminal, which covers a distance of 18.1 km and the North-South corridor (Green line) which connects Hesaraghatta Cross to Puttenahalli and spans a distance of 24.1 km.
