Adani Power files compensatory tariff petition with CERC

Adani Power Limited has filed a petition with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission claiming a compensatory tariff of about Rs 8.52 billion for its 4,620 MW Mundra coal-based power plant in Gujarat. The company has sought compensation owing to changes in domestic coal distribution policies. This is following the Supreme Court verdict dated April 11, 2017 wherein it stated that costs incurred due to policy changes in India would be considered for compensation under the change in law provision.
