TRAI issues consultation paper on data speeds under wireless broadband plans

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a consultation paper on data speed under wireless broadband plans, citing an increasing number of consumer complaints regarding slow data speeds. Through the consultation paper, the regulator has sought suggestions on whether the tariff plans’ framework requires changes to encourage more transparency and facilitate a comparison between different data plans and whether there is a need to revise quality of service (QoS) parameters to improve data speeds.
