The Union cabinet has granted approval for the Noida-Greater Noida Metro Rail Project. The project, covering a length of 29.71 km, will be implemented by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). Currently, the project has made physical progress of 70 per cent and financial progress of 40 per cent. It is scheduled to be completed by April 2018. The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 55.03 billion. The NMRC has recently approved funds worth Rs 16 billion for the project under its budgetary allocations for 2017-18.
