The New Mangalore Port Trust has awarded the contract for maintenance dredging at the port to Mercator Limited. The value of the contract is Rs 980 million. The scope of work involves carrying out maintenance dredging of the outer approach channel, the lagoon including the new dock arm, in front of the K.I.O. berth (extension lagoon), the old dock arm (eastern dock) and the berth face at the port, for three years – 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.
