Central government and World Bank sign loan for Bihar Rural Roads Project

The central government, the World Bank and the Bihar government have signed a loan agreement worth Rs 15.19 billion ($235 million) for the Bihar Rural Roads Projects. The project will support the construction of around 2,500 km of rural roads under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sampark Yojana. The credit is from the International Development Association, the World Bank’s concessionary lending arm. The loan has a maturity of 25 years, including a five-year grace period.
