TRAI constitutes three sub-groups to identify obsolete regulations and orders

TRAI has constituted three subgroups to identify obsolete regulations and orders in the areas of licensing, tariffs, and service quality respectively. TRAI’s advisers are heading these individual subgroups, which also include industry representatives from Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), Idea Cellular, Telenor and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). These subgroups will examine and identify regulations and tariff orders that have become outdated. Further, industry associations like the Cellular Operators Association of India, the Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India and the Internet Service Providers Association of India are also involved in the exercise.
