The Ministry of Urban Development has announced the results of Swachh Survekshan 2017. The survey has ranked 434 cities and towns based on their sanitation levels. Indore has topped the list, followed by Bhopal and Visakhapatnam. Last year’s winner, Mysuru, has dropped to fifth rank. In addition, cities in the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh account for 31 of the top 50 clean cities. Meanwhile, cities in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have shown significant improvements in their rankings over the previous year.
