DoT has granted a unified licence to state-owned power transmission utility Power Grid Corporation of India Limited with national long distance (NLD) and internet service provider-Category A service authorisation. Earlier, the company had two separate licences – those of infrastructure provider and NLD – which are due to expire. The company now has a single unified licence, which is valid for 20 years.
