The Ministry of Power has issued over 3.8 million energy saving certificates (ESCerts) to designated consumers (DCs) under the first cycle of the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme. The ESCerts were issued on February 16, 2017 on verification of DCs’ performance with regard to energy savings. The first cycle of PAT was completed in March 2015. The DCs achieved cumulative energy savings of 8.67 million tonnes of oil equivalent (mtoe), higher than the target of 6.886 mtoe.
