Ministry clears bidders for Nagpur Airport

The Ministry of Home Affairs has granted security clearance to the qualified bidders for the upgradation, modernisation, operation and maintenance of Nagpur airport into an international passenger and cargo hub. The bidders include GVK Airport Developers Limited, PNC Infratech Limited, Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited, GMR Airports Limited and Essel Infra Projects Limited. With this, MIHAN India Limited is now expected to expedite the bidding process and issue request for proposal bids to the qualified bidders. Meanwhile, the board of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company has reportedly approved the grant of Rs 70 million for the expansion of existing parking bays at the airport.
