Maharashtra government signs pact for construction of bridges on railway tracks

The MoRTH and the Maharashtra government have signed an agreement to construct bridges on railway tracks, expected to be completed within three years, at an estimated cost of Rs 100 billion. Of the total expenditure, IR will contribute Rs 50 billion, while the state government will contribute the remaining through Central Road Fund allocations. Further, the state government will be responsible for acquiring land and shifting utilities on a priority basis. Meanwhile, the authorities plan to select groups of adjoining districts and treat them as a cluster, and issue all the major clearances in one go to ensure the timely completion of construction work.
