
JSW Infrastructure Limited has undertaken recently various measures to improve connectivity and enhance capacity at Jaigarh port. It has commissioned new mechanised berths for coastal cargo to handle Capesize vessels and transform the port into a transhipment hub. The road construction plan for six-laning the Jaigarh port-Nivali stretch (on National Highway [NH]-66) has been inaugurated. In conjunction with Indian Railways (IR), the foundation stone has been laid for the Jaigarh-Digni railway line on the Konkan railway network. In addition, the port recently received bulk cargo vessel, MV China Enterprise carrying 200,000 mt of coking coal from Australia.
