CCI approves RCOM’s merger with Aircel and sale of RCOM’s Reliance Infratel stake to Brookfield Infrastructure Group

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Reliance Communications’ (RCOM) merger of its wireless division with Aircel and Dishnet Wireless. The CCI has also approved the proposed sale of RCOM’s 51 per cent stake in Reliance Infratel to Canada-based Brookfield Infrastructure Group. The operator has now filed applications to seek approval from the National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai bench, for the two transactions.
