TRAI has begun operator-assisted drive tests to monitor the level of call drops and voice quality across multiple cities. Operator-assisted drive tests are different from the independent drive tests conducted by the regulator earlier. These tests are being conducted in coordination with telecom service providers. Operator-assisted tests have already been completed in Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), Jaisalmer, (Rajasthan), Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) and Mengaluru (Karnataka).
