Patna district transfers land to AAI for airport upgradation project

The Patna district administration has transferred 11.5 acres of land to AAI for the Patna airport upgradation project. The transferred land belongs to the state hangar (5 acres), an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) depot (2 acres) and the Bihar Flying Club (6.5 acres). In January 2017, the Union cabinet had granted approval for the exchange of 11.35 acres of land between AAI and the Bihar government. As per the proposed expansion plans, the first block of the new building will be developed over the current location of the state hangar followed by the development of three new hangars, two for the state government and one for the flying club.
