Government appoints telecom secretary J.S. Deepak as India’s next ambassador to WTO

The government has appointed Telecom Secretary J.S. Deepak as India’s next ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO). According to the office order by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Deepak has been shifted with immediate effect from the telecom ministry and has been made an officer on special duty (OSD) in the commerce department, where he will remian till May 31, 2017, and will assume the position of India’s next WTO ambassador on June 1, 2017.
