APM Terminals Pipavav has implemented the electronic sub-manifest transshipment permit (e-SMTP) at its port beginning 2017. The e-SMTP has been implemented to ensure paper-free customs clearance procedures. Under this, containers at Pipavav port are released for train loading according to e-SMTP messages received from the Indian Customs Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange Gateway through the port community system.
