Videocon Telecom will shut down its operations in the Punjab circle from February 15, 2017, thereby bringing an end to its mobile services in the country. In May 2016, the operator had shut down services in Bihar and Jharkhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Uttar Pradesh (West) after selling spectrum in the 1800 MHz band in these circles to Bharti Airtel for Rs 44.28 billion.
