SECI has received bids for 2.6 GW against a capacity of 1 GW called for in the first competitive bidding tender for wind power projects. Tamil Nadu has received bids for setting up 1,794 MW of wind power projects (around 69 per cent of the bids). Meanwhile, Gujarat received bids for setting up projects aggregating 700 MW (27 per cent) and Karnataka received bids for 100 MW of capacity. Firms such as Inox Wind Limited, Gamesa India, Adani Power, Hero Future Energies and Sembcorp, among others, participated in the bidding process.
