Restoration works of water treatment plants in Agra under way

The Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (UPJN) has commenced the restoration and upgradation works of the Jeevani Mandi and Sikandra water treatment plants (WTPs) in Agra. The 225 million litre per day (mld) Jeevani Mandi WTP will be upgraded at an investment of about Rs 800 million. UPJN will invest another Rs 200 million to overhaul and upgrade one of the two 144 mld plants at Sikandra. The works are being carried out under the Agra Water Supply Project and are expected to be completed by mid-2017.
