Nuance Communications acquires mCarbon for $36 million

US-based software technology company Nuance Communications has acquired Noida-based mobile value-added services (VAS) provider mCarbon Tech Innovations for $36 million in a cash and stock transaction. mCarbon provides core network VAS and innovative customer value management products for telecom operators and is backed by the Private Equity Group, an investment arm of JP Morgan and Canaan Partners. The company also operates in Bangladesh, the Middle East and Africa.
