MoUD approves funds worth Rs 42.12 billion for seven states under AMRUT

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) has approved Rs 42.12 billion for projects being implemented in seven states under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. The funds have been approved for the next three financial years (2017-20) as against the earlier practice of approving annual action plans for states. The funds are for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Puducherry. Of the approved investment, the MoUD will provide central assistance of Rs 14.32 billion for projects related to water supply, and sewerage and drainage networks, among others.
