Land exchange approved for Patna airport

The Union cabinet has granted approval for the exchange of land between AAI and the Bihar government for the Patna airport upgradation project. The proposed land will be used for the construction of a new terminal building along with associated infrastructure. As per the approval, the state government will provide 13.5 acres of land to AAI which belongs to the state hangar (5 acres), an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) depot (2 acres) and a Special Task Force camp (6.5 acres) in lieu of 11.35 acres of land in Aneesabad owned by AAI.
