Foundation stone laid for waste-to-energy plant in Jamnagar

The Gujarat government has laid the foundation stone for a waste-to-energy project in Jamnagar. The proposed 5 MW plant will be equipped to handle 250 tonnes per day of solid waste. The project will be implemented by the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation at an investment of Rs 750 million. At present, there is no solid waste processing facility in the city and the waste is being disposed of in open dumping grounds.
