NTPC commissions first 800 MW unit of the 4,000 MW Kudgi STPP at Bijapur in Karnataka

NTPC Limited has commissioned the first 800 MW unit of the under-construction 4,000 MW Kudgi super thermal power plant (STPP) at Bijapur in Karnataka. With this, NTPC’s total installed capacity has increased to 48,028 MW. Doosan Power Systems India Private Limited and Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited are among the principal contractors for the STPP. The coal requirement for the power plant will be met through the Pakhri-Barwadih coal block in Jharkhand.
