TAMP approves tariff hike at Vallarpadam terminal

The Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP) has allowed India Gateway Terminal Private Limited (IGTPL) to hike tariffs at the Kochi International Container Transhipment Terminal, Vallarpadam, with effect from November 13, 2016. TAMP has permitted the terminal operator to increase the scale of rates by 4.5 per cent, based on the deficit position filed by the company in its cost statement. IGTPL, had approached TAMP with a request to hike rates from January 1, 2016; however, the request was deferred during the time of hearing following concerns raised by various trade bodies.
