Navi Mumbai airport, Phase I commissioning further delayed

The Navi Mumbai International Airport project, Phase I, is now expected to be commissioned by May 2020 as against the initial target of December 2019. The date for submission of requests for proposal (RfP,) for the Rs 160 billion project has also been extended from November 7, 2016 to January 9, 2017, as bidders have sought more time. Meanwhile, the Hiranandani Group in consortium with Zurich Airport has received approval to compete for the airport project after being disqualified from bidding earlier due to security clearance issues. It can now compete with the GVK Group, the GMR Group and the Tata Realty-Vinci Concessions consortium for the project.
