Reliance Infrastructure files papers with SEBI for forming InvIT

Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra) has filed its papers with SEBI seeking approval for forming an InvIT. The company has started the documentation process for its draft red herring prospectus and plans to finish it by October 2016. It is considering listing its entire portfolio of 11 assets. The move to raise capital through an InvIT comes at a time when RInfra is still in negotiations with Canadian firm Brookfield Asset Management, Inc. to sell its road assets. Both companies are bound in an exclusivity contract which was to end on September 30, 2016.
