Bids invited for a solid waste management project in Patiala

The Patiala Municipal Corporation in Punjab has invited tenders for implementation of the Patiala Solid Waste Management Project. The last date for bid submission is November 15, 2016. The project will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 billion. The scope of work includes developing infrastructure for door-to-door collection, segregation and storage of municipal waste and garbage transportation from the storage point to the processing plant for a period of 25 years. Moreover, a common sanitary landfill site for disposing of the processed waste will also be constructed. Further, the civic agency will allow the selected developer to generate compost power and other by-products from the waste. The project will create a capacity to treat 440 tonnes per day of solid waste from Patiala and 21 other municipal committees under the Patiala and Sangrur districts.
